Get the Data You Need
Rugged, lightweight Edge attaches easily to the stem or handlebars of your bike with the included bike mount. Just turn it on, acquire GPS satellites and go. Edge 305 automatically measures your speed, distance, time, calories burned, altitude, climb and descent, and records this data for your review. For extra-precise climb and descent data, Edge 305 also incorporates a barometric altimeter to pinpoint changes in elevation.

Track Your Progress
As an added benefit, you can plan, analyze and store data from your workouts using free Garmin Training Center® software, which lets you analyze data with interactive graphs that chart your speed, time, heart rate and elevation. Overlay your ride on a map so you can pinpoint specific areas and see how elevation and other factors affect your performance. Or, upload your workout data to MotionBased.com, Garmin's web-based application that provides in-depth analysis of your workouts, online mapping and route sharing that will take your training to the next level. Endurance athletes can also use the Edge with TrainingPeaks.com, an easy-to-use web-based training system designed to help athletes train for any event.

ANT is a 2.4GHz practical wireless networking protocol and embedded system solution specifically designed for wireless sensor network (WSN) that requires

* ultra low power - able to run on a coin cell for years of operation;
* highly resource optimized, easy to use and implement - low system cost and design cycle;
* network flexibility and scalability - self-adaptive and able to do practical mesh

Proven by millions of deployed nodes, ANT™ is perfectly suited for any kind of low data rate sensor network topologies in personal area networks (PAN) which are well suited for sports, fitness and health applications, as well as local area networks (LAN) for homes and industrial automation applications.

Why choose ANT?
ANT was developed to provide the ultimate in ultra-low power and flexibility for wireless-enabled devices. In doing so, the ANT protocol addressed the sensor connectivity problems experienced by other protocols like Bluetooth and Zigbee. Having evolved through several generations, ANT today dominates the digital sensing market for sports and fitness. As ANT continues to grow, it sees more and more applications in wellness and home sensor networks and industrial automation.
Focusing on the requirement of ultra-low power and ultra-high efficiency, ANT offers a range of features and benefits that sets it apart from other standards and proprietary solutions. Please see technical feature highlights for details.
ANT delivers off-the-shelf interoperability via ANT+ through the efforts of the member companies of the open ANT+ Alliance. A managed network, ANT+ specifies data communication profiles and interoperation processes to guarantee seamless communication between ANT products for collection, automatic transfer and tracking of sensor data. ANT+Sport, a sub-set of ANT+, is a de facto standard for the sport and fitness market.

ANT has been intentionally engineered to simplify network development and optimize network operational efficiency. ANT-powered network nodes can operate for years on coin cells compared to days or months for other technologies such as Bluetooth and ZigBee. Rich in capabilities, ANT provides reliable data communications, flexible and adaptive network operation and cross-talk immunity.
ANT is a production proven technology with millions of nodes installed.
